Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how MyMusicHub collects, uses, stores, discloses, and protects personal information when you use the MyMusicHub website, create an account, publish content, or interact with other users.
Privacy at a glance
- MyMusicHub collects account information, user-created content, communications, and limited technical and usage data needed to operate and protect the Service.
- Supabase provides authentication, database, and storage infrastructure; Hostinger hosts the website; and Google may provide basic profile information when you choose Google Sign-In.
- MyMusicHub does not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it to serve targeted advertisements.
- You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or other rights available under applicable privacy law.
1. Scope and data controller
This Privacy Policy applies to mymusichub.org and the related MyMusicHub features, pages, accounts, community tools, and services that link to this Policy, collectively referred to as the “Service.” MyMusicHub, a United States-based online service, determines why and how personal information is processed through the Service and is the data controller where applicable law uses that term.
This Policy does not apply to third-party websites, services, or content that may be linked from or embedded in the Service. Those third parties are responsible for their own privacy practices.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information, depending on how you use the Service:
Account and identity information
- Email address, username, display name, profile image, profile details, and internal account or user identifiers.
- Authentication information, such as encrypted or hashed credentials, login status, session identifiers, account-creation date, and security records. Password authentication is handled through Supabase; MyMusicHub does not need to view your plain-text password.
- If you use Google Sign-In, Google may provide information you authorize, such as your email address, name, profile image, and a unique Google account identifier.
User content and community activity
- Posts, comments, feedback, captions, links, tags, reactions, likes, reports, profile descriptions, and other text you submit.
- Music, audio, images, artwork, files, media, collaboration materials, battle entries, or other content you upload or make available.
- Information about how you interact with posts, users, community features, moderation tools, and other parts of the Service.
Usage, device, and network information
- Internet Protocol address, approximate location inferred from an IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, language, referring page, pages or features accessed, timestamps, and session activity.
- Server, authentication, security, diagnostic, crash, and error logs generated when the Service is accessed or used.
- Cookie, local-storage, and similar technical identifiers used to maintain sessions, remember settings, prevent abuse, and keep the Service functioning.
Communications and support information
If you contact MyMusicHub, report content, make a privacy request, or communicate with support or moderation, we may collect your contact information, the contents of the communication, attachments, and related records.
Information we do not intentionally request
MyMusicHub does not intentionally request government identification numbers, financial account details, precise geolocation, medical information, biometric identifiers, or other highly sensitive information. Do not include sensitive or confidential personal information in public posts, uploads, usernames, profiles, or messages unless it is necessary and you are legally permitted to disclose it.
3. How information is collected
- Directly from you when you register, create a profile, publish or upload content, interact with the community, contact support, or submit a request.
- Automatically through necessary cookies, local storage, server logs, authentication records, and similar technologies when you access or use the Service.
- From service providers, including Supabase, Hostinger, and Google Sign-In, when they provide authentication, hosting, database, storage, security, or related technical services.
- From other users when they mention, tag, report, respond to, or otherwise interact with you or your content.
4. How we use information
MyMusicHub may use personal information to:
- Create, authenticate, maintain, secure, and administer accounts and sessions.
- Provide the Service, display profiles and user content, enable community interactions, and process actions you request.
- Host, store, organize, deliver, and back up content and account information.
- Personalize functional settings and remember user preferences.
- Operate moderation, enforce the Terms of Service and community rules, investigate reports, prevent fraud or abuse, and protect users, MyMusicHub, and the public.
- Diagnose errors, monitor reliability, maintain security, understand feature usage, and improve the Service.
- Respond to questions, support requests, account issues, legal requests, and privacy-rights requests.
- Comply with legal obligations, establish or defend legal claims, and respond to lawful government or court requests.
- Send service-related notices, such as authentication, account, security, moderation, policy, or operational messages.
MyMusicHub does not use personal information for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects, and it does not currently use personal information for targeted advertising.
5. Legal bases for processing
Where the European Union General Data Protection Regulation, United Kingdom GDPR, or a similar law applies, MyMusicHub relies on one or more of the following legal bases:
| Purpose | Typical legal basis |
|---|---|
| Creating accounts, providing requested features, publishing content, and maintaining sessions | Performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before entering a contract |
| Security, fraud prevention, moderation, service reliability, debugging, and improvement | Legitimate interests in operating a safe, functional, and reliable service |
| Responding to legal process, preserving records, and meeting regulatory duties | Compliance with legal obligations and, where applicable, legitimate interests |
| Optional processing that applicable law requires you to approve | Your consent, which you may withdraw at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing |
| Protecting a person from a serious and immediate threat | Vital interests, where permitted by law |
MyMusicHub balances its legitimate interests against the rights and reasonable expectations of affected individuals and limits processing to what is reasonably necessary for the stated purpose.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
The Service may use cookies, browser storage, session tokens, and similar technologies that are necessary to authenticate users, maintain sessions, remember settings, route requests, prevent abuse, and support security. Disabling necessary cookies or storage may prevent account login or cause parts of the Service to stop working correctly.
MyMusicHub does not currently use third-party advertising cookies or a third-party analytics platform. If non-essential analytics, advertising, or similar tracking technologies are introduced, this Policy and any legally required consent controls will be updated before or when those technologies are used.
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because there is not a universally accepted technical standard for that signal, the Service may not respond to it in every circumstance. MyMusicHub will recognize legally required opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control, when applicable to the processing at issue.
7. Public content and community features
Usernames, profile information, posts, comments, feedback, uploads, reactions, and other community activity may be visible to other users or the public depending on the feature and your settings. Public content may be indexed, copied, downloaded, recorded, shared, or reposted by others outside MyMusicHub’s control.
Deleting content or an account removes or restricts MyMusicHub’s active display of that information as required by applicable law, but it may not remove copies already made by other users, search engines, web archives, external services, or recipients. Limited residual copies may also remain temporarily in caches, logs, or backups.
8. How information is disclosed
MyMusicHub may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:
- Supabase: for account authentication, database functions, storage, security, and related backend infrastructure.
- Hostinger: for website hosting, network delivery, server operation, security, and technical logs.
- Google: when you choose Google Sign-In, subject to the permissions you grant and Google’s own privacy terms.
- Other users and the public: when you publish content, create a public profile, or use interactive community features.
- Technical and professional providers: when reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, legal advice, auditing, or operation of the Service and subject to appropriate obligations.
- Authorities or other parties for legal and safety reasons: when disclosure is reasonably believed to be required by law, legal process, court order, or a valid government request, or necessary to investigate abuse, enforce agreements, protect rights or safety, or address fraud or security threats.
- Organizational transactions: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, transfer of assets, or similar transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate protections.
- At your direction or with your consent: when you ask MyMusicHub to disclose information or expressly authorize the disclosure.
Service providers may process personal information only for the services they provide, subject to their agreements and applicable law. Their own independent activities may also be governed by their respective privacy policies.
9. No sale of personal information
MyMusicHub does not sell personal information for money. It also does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, rent personal information, or disclose personal information to data brokers. MyMusicHub does not knowingly sell or share the personal information of users under 16.
10. International data transfers
MyMusicHub is based in the United States, and the Service’s providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they or their subprocessors operate. Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws where you live.
Where required, MyMusicHub will rely on legally recognized transfer mechanisms or contractual safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, provider data-processing terms, adequacy decisions, or another lawful transfer basis. You may contact MyMusicHub for additional information about safeguards applicable to your information.
11. Data retention
MyMusicHub retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the Service, preserving security, complying with law, resolving disputes, and enforcing agreements. Retention depends on the type of information and why it is processed:
- Account information is generally kept while the account remains active and for the limited period needed to complete deletion, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, or satisfy legal obligations.
- User content is generally kept until you delete it, close your account, or it is removed under applicable rules. Public copies made by others may remain outside MyMusicHub’s control.
- Authentication, security, diagnostic, and server logs are retained for a limited operational period based on security, abuse-prevention, troubleshooting, and provider requirements.
- Support, moderation, privacy-request, and legal records may be retained for the period reasonably needed to document the matter, comply with law, and establish or defend legal claims.
- Backups and caches may contain residual copies until they are overwritten or deleted through routine provider and system processes.
When information is no longer needed, MyMusicHub will delete it, anonymize it, or isolate it from further use unless continued retention is required or permitted by law.
12. Data security
MyMusicHub uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. These measures may include encrypted network connections, managed authentication, access restrictions, security logging, provider security controls, and measures intended to prevent unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
No website, storage system, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, using a secure device, and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized account access. Where legally required, MyMusicHub will provide notices concerning qualifying personal-data breaches.
13. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location and subject to legal exceptions, you may have some or all of the following rights:
- Right to be informed about how personal information is collected and used.
- Right of access to obtain confirmation of processing and a copy of personal information associated with you.
- Right to correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
- Right to deletion or erasure of personal information when applicable legal conditions are met.
- Right to restrict processing in circumstances provided by law.
- Right to object to processing based on legitimate interests and to object at any time to direct marketing.
- Right to data portability for certain information processed by automated means on the basis of consent or contract.
- Right to withdraw consent at any time when processing relies on consent, without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
- Rights concerning automated decision-making, including the right not to be subject to certain solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. MyMusicHub does not currently perform such decision-making.
- Right to complain to a competent data-protection authority or regulator.
- Right to appeal a denied privacy request where applicable state law provides an appeal process.
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising rights granted by applicable privacy law.
These rights are not absolute. A request may be limited or denied when an exception applies, such as when information is needed for security, fraud prevention, freedom of expression, legal compliance, recordkeeping, or the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
How to exercise your rights
Submit a request to yungcholesterol@gmail.com using the email address connected to your account when possible. Clearly state the right you wish to exercise and provide enough information to identify the relevant account or records.
MyMusicHub may request additional information to verify identity and protect accounts from fraudulent requests. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law, but MyMusicHub may require proof of authorization and direct identity confirmation from the user. Requests will be answered within the period required by applicable law.
14. Additional U.S. state privacy disclosures
To the extent a U.S. state comprehensive privacy law applies to MyMusicHub and your information, residents may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal information; opt out of sale, targeted advertising, or certain profiling; use an authorized agent; appeal a denied request; and receive equal service when exercising privacy rights.
During the preceding 12 months, MyMusicHub may have collected the categories described in Section 2, including identifiers, internet or electronic-network activity, approximate location derived from an IP address, audio or visual content, user-generated content, and communications. These categories may have been disclosed for operational purposes to the providers and recipients described in Section 8. MyMusicHub has not sold those categories or shared them for cross-context behavioral advertising.
MyMusicHub does not use or disclose sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about users. Because it does not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, no separate “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link is currently required for MyMusicHub’s stated practices. A legally valid opt-out preference signal will be honored if future processing makes such an opt-out applicable.
15. Children and teenagers
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create an account or submit personal information. MyMusicHub does not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If MyMusicHub learns that it has collected such information without legally valid parental consent, it will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Users who are at least 13 but have not reached the age of legal majority where they live may use the Service only with the permission and supervision required by applicable law. Where local law requires parental authorization for consent-based processing, the user must obtain that authorization before using the affected feature.
A parent or legal guardian who believes a child provided personal information in violation of this section should contact yungcholesterol@gmail.com with information sufficient to identify the account or content.
16. Third-party services and links
The Service may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, music platforms, social networks, file hosts, or other services. MyMusicHub does not control those third parties and is not responsible for their content, security, or privacy practices. Review the privacy terms of a third party before providing information to it.
17. Changes to this Policy
MyMusicHub may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Service, legal requirements, providers, or data practices. The revised Policy will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. When required by law, MyMusicHub will provide additional notice or obtain consent before a material change takes effect.
18. Contact and complaints
Questions, privacy requests, complaints, or concerns may be sent to yungcholesterol@gmail.com.
Individuals in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom may also lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority responsible for their place of residence, place of work, or the location of the alleged infringement. MyMusicHub encourages users to contact it first so the concern can be reviewed and addressed.
